News about GM Alexander Morozevich

GM Alex Morozevich sailed through the early rounds of the FIDE Championship held in New Delhi in December, but was eliminated in a series of wild games with the talented Vladislav Tkachiev, who in turn was eliminated by Shirov in the quarterfinals. Our Annotated Games section has four games from New Delhi annotated by GM Morozevich, including one of the games with Tkachiev.

Morozevich was coming off a fine performance in the Istanbul Olympiad.  He took a bronze medal for board two men in individual results and was also awarded the Best Performance Rating for men.
