Dear Friends!

This is a new page, where we hope to share with you news from around the world. Of course, there are Web sites with excellent coverage of chess news already and in most cases we can't compete with them. But hopefully we will have some original, hard-to-find elsewhere messages and reports here.

One message came from Moscow. It's an invitation for chess journalists (in a broad sense) to submit their list of top 10 players of 1999. For your convenience '64-Chess review' prepared a dossier on many potential candidates (see below). So, check this material and send your list of best ten players to Vladimir Barsky, chess@online.ru. Don't forget to give your name and to mention what magazine, newspaper or Web site you write for!

Then, we offer to you attention interview with world's youngest GM Ruslan Ponomariov. The interview was taken last autumn in Ukraine by Vladimir Barsky. I translated it into English and then Jimmy Adams polished it. The interview will soon appear in 'Chess Monthly' (UK). Enjoy!
